Donation: BPD receives technology to protect first responders against COVID-19 The Bluffton Police Department accepted a generous donation from Dust Solutions and Global Infection Control Consultants to protect its officers and other first responders in the area against COVID-19.
During a demonstration earlier today, officers learned how to use the donated equipment to treat a vehicle for potential COVID-19 contamination.
The companies donated 100 bottles of disinfectant, as well as a fogger.
BACKGROUND: Global Infection Control Consultants is a Bluffton based company focused on understanding the dynamics of the pathogenic bioaerosol connection to the human infection matrix. Currently, Global Infection Control is producing an alcohol-free hand sanitizer that is currently being laboratory tested on its efficacy against the COVID-19 virus. Dust Solutions Inc., a Beaufort based manufacturer of dust suppression systems, has also developed a small fogger that can be used to disinfect vehicles such as police cars and EMT wagons.
